What is the Teacher Training Program?
The Teacher Training Program (TTP) is the most advanced level of study and practice offered at Vajrayana Buddhist Center. In addition to studying Buddha’s Sutra teachings, this class also delves deeply into the Tantras, or Vajrayana teachings. Once a practitioner has established a solid basis of renunciation, bodhichitta, and the correct view of emptiness, the Vajrayana practices reveal the actual method for attaining enlightenment quickly in a single lifetime.
In addition to the weekly puja commitment and bi-weekly class attendance commitment shared by Foundation Program, TTP also has a variety of required retreats throughout the year. Each retreat lasts for one week and focuses on one of the Four Great Preliminary Guides: Refuge practice, Guru Yoga, Mandala offerings, or Vajrasattva purification practice.
Each class consists of chanted prayers, guided meditation, formal teaching, and discussion. The Program also includes a ‘Teaching Skills’ component to help students improve their ability to give Dharma to others.
$80 per month includes a VBC Membership Card.
