Buddha taught that happiness comes from inner peace rather than external conditions. But a peaceful mind does not come naturally. It takes practice – practice both in meditation and in our daily activities. The stages of the path to enlightenment, or Lamrim in Tibetan, are a series of 21 practical and powerful meditations that encompass all the essential points of Buddha's teachings. The very heart of Kadampa Buddhism, Lamrim is a step-by-step guide to the development of inner peace and happiness.
Join us for this one-day Lamrim retreat to deepen your understanding of how these special instructions can be readily applied to subdue our harmful mental habits and cultivate positive, peaceful minds. Throughout the four retreat sessions, you’ll gain experience with each of the 21 meditations. This retreat is perfect for beginners or more experienced practitioners who wish to develop or reinvigorate their home practice. Everyone is welcome!Where: VKBC Wicker Park Annex, 2010 W.
