Join us for simple guided meditation. This class is perfect for those who've never meditated before, and for those who want to enjoy guided meditation with a group. We focus on basic meditation techniques that can be easily integrated into daily life and are helpful for both the beginner and more experienced meditator.
In meditation, we concentrate on a single positive thought in order to gain an experience of inner peace and happiness. Through training our mind in this way, we gradually gain the ability to hold on to these states of mind outside of meditation, no matter what difficulties modern life brings our way. Do I need to register for Drop-In classes?
Drop-In classes are open to everyone, and no registration or prior arrangements are needed.
Do I need to sit on the floor?
No. Chairs are available at all our locations.
Do I have to be a Buddhist to benefit from meditation?
No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind. Buddhists respect all people and are happy to help anyone regardless of whether they subscribe to another faith, or to none.
Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend the classes?
No experience is needed. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.
What do I need to bring to class?
Nothing in particular, however if you wish to take notes bring a pen and notepad.
How should I dress for class?
No particular clothing is required.
