Profits raised by Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago are dedicated for public benefit to the International Temples Project (ITP) and used for the development of the KMCs and Temple Projects throughout the world. More details about the ITP can be found on the official NKT home-page here.
The ITP is a Buddhist charity dedicated to building a Kadampa Buddhist Temple for world peace in every major city throughout the world. Temples sponsored by the ITP come in many different shapes and sizes. Some are traditional Kadampa temples based on ancient Buddhist architecture, such as the temples in New York, England, and Brazil. Other temples are non-traditional, such as Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia, which is housed within an old southern manor home, or Kadampa Meditation Center New York City, located in the heart of Chelsea.
Every time you attend a Dharma Celebration, buy an item from Tharpa Publications, or have dinner at a World Peace Cafe, you are supporting the International Temples Project. Through our collective wish for peace, we can make Dharma available to others and truly change our world.
‘Just looking at a Temple with a happy mind places good imprints on our mind and brings inner peace.
‘Through the power of this special object, problems such as anger and attachment are reduced.’ Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
