Buddha Tara (also known as Arya Tara) is a female enlightened Buddha who is the embodiment of swift wisdom and protection. Her name means "Rescuer" indicating she has great power to avert outer dangers and to pacify our inner negative emotions and attitudes. By relying upon Buddha Tara, our wisdom will gradually increase and we will experience fewer problems and dangers. Ultimately we can achieve the state of full enlightenment under her loving care.
