Buddhist Retreats
Buddhist Retreats
It is traditional in Kadampa Buddhist Centers to engage in regular meditation retreats. This allows us to digest the teachings we have heard and to gain some precious familiarity with them.
The more sessions we can attend, the more peaceful and concentrated our mind will become, and the more relaxed and happy we will feel. We can also hope to gain some special, lasting spiritual insights that are not so easy to reach in the busy-ness of our ordinary routine.
What to expect
On each day of retreat, there are four sessions a day, each involving a balance of preparatory prayers, meditation, and sometimes teaching. Check out our brochure for more details.
Retreats coming up at the Center are:
Lamrim Retreat - Monday, August 25 - Saturday, August 30
Lamrim, the main body of Buddha's teachings, enriches our life by helping us develop the qualities of mental clarity, kindness, patience, and insight so we can deal positively with any situation we encounter. Regular meditation retreats allow us to digest the teachings we have heard and to gain some precious familiarity with them. The more sessions we attend the more peaceful and concentrated our mind will become and the more relaxed and happy we will feel.
Session times: 8am-9:15am, 10:30-11:45am, 4-5:15pm, and 7-8:15pm. Everyone is welcome. $5 per session / $15 per day / $50 entire retreat. Members free.
