Resident Teacher
Kelsang Lektso
Our Resident Teacher is Kelsang Lektso, an American Buddhist nun and close disciple of
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, who has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under Geshe Kelsang's guidance since 1999. Prior to becoming the Resident Teacher, Kelsang Lektso served VBC for many years as the Administrative Director and the Education Program Coordinator. Lektso presents Buddha's teachings in a clear, heartfelt, and practical way.
Through her activities of caring for others with kindness and offering good advice, Kelsang Lektso shows us how to practically help people overcome their problems, using wisdom and compassion. Our beautiful center and our present opportunity to practice Dharma are largely the result of her tireless efforts over many years. She is truly a dear friend to the people of the Chicago area and the Midwest.
Lektso teaches introductory classes at Vajrayana Center on Sunday mornings at 10am and Monday evenings at 7pm. She also teaches the Foundation Program and Teacher Training Program in Oak Park, the Lakeview and Milwaukee branch locations, and frequent Special Events throughout the Chicagoland area.
