Monday Evening Drop-In Class
Heart Jewel: The Essential Practices of Kadampa Buddhism
Kadampa Buddhism is a special presentation of Buddha's teachings that makes the path to enlightenment accessible to the modern world and explains clearly how to transform our lives into the spiritual path.
On Monday evenings, we will be exploring Heart Jewel, an essential spiritual practice of prayer and meditation within Kadampa Buddhism in which we learn to rely upon our Spiritual Guide and Wisdom Dharma Protector.
By relying upon this ancient practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive blessings. In this way, we will naturally accomplish all the realizations of the stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra, and in particular we will attain a very special Dharma wisdom.
This series is open to everyone -- from beginner to advanced students--however it is most appropriate for those who already have some experience of Kadampa Buddhism.
Each class will include readings from the book, Heart Jewel, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, guided meditation, and practical instruction. Although it is not required, it is recommended that students have their own copy of the book so they may follow along during class.
Streamed live, and also available for 72 hours after to those who register before the live class starts.
No class on Dec 21 & 28.
No registration available at the moment. Please try again later.
This class will draw from the book(s) listed here. It's not necessary to have your own copy, but some people like follow along or read more after the class. Click on the book image to order a print or e-book copy.

Jan: The Preciousness of Tantra
In this special series of classes we will be exploring Buddha’s teachings and meditations on Tantra, based upon the authoritative text, Modern Buddhism. Tantric meditation gives us a clear vision of what Buddhist enlightenment actually means. It harnesses the power of our imagination and wisdom and brings about swift internal positive transformation. We learn how to let go of our ordinary limitations and transcend our negative states of mind.
Although this is an in-depth series and presumes fundamental Buddhist understanding, everyone is welcome to attend. Each class will include clear, practical instruction and guided meditation.
