We all know meditation is good for us, but often some practical questions come up and hold us back:
Is there a correct way to meditate, and what meditations can I practice?
How do I quiet my busy, overactive mind?
How can I make deeper, lasting changes in my life outside formal meditation?
Whether you are new or experienced, this 6-week series will cover:
step-by-step knowledge and skills to start -- or strengthen -- your meditation practice
several guided meditations you can practice at home
how to use meditation practically to improve all areas of your life
Although helpful, you are not required to start the series from the beginning -- you are welcome to drop in at any time.
Each class will include practical instruction, guided meditation, and time for questions. Students are invited to stay after class for informal discussion and social time.
We will use the books How to Transform Your Life and How to Understand the Mind by acclaimed Buddhist author and meditation master Geshe Kelsang Gyatso as our guide, however purchase of the book is optional (copies are available for purchase at the class).
No previous experience is necessary. Absolutely everyone is welcome!
