We will be emphasizing a very special meditation called clarity of mind, in which we explore the fundamental nature of our mind, and discover its boundless capacity for peace, joy, and wisdom. An ideal meditation for beginners and experienced meditators alike, it will forever improve the way you meditate!

La Salle Manor Retreat Center is located on 47 acres of rural land, featuring woods, a lake, and nature trails.

Meals & Accommodations


Only single rooms are available. Each room includes a shared bath. No pets are allowed.


Vegetarian meals are included in the retreat price. Meals will be served from Friday evening through lunch on Sunday. We can accommodate vegan and gluten free diets with 10 days notice.


Ample parking is available. You may not sleep in any vehicle parked on the grounds. Carpooling may be available with advance notice.

All prices include teachings, meals, and accommodation. You may pay in full, or make a non-refundable deposit of 25% to reserve your spot. Full payment is due by March 11.

Single room:

$360 if you register by March 11

$390 if you register on or after March 12

Refunds & Cancellation: In order to guarantee your spot, a non-refundable 25% deposit is required. If you contact us on or before March 11 to cancel, we can refund any amount paid beyond the 25% deposit. After that date we are unable to offer any refunds.


Member discounts: Not included with $35 for 30 Days membership; Patron Members receive the teaching portion free, contact Chogo for pricing and to register.

Books & Resources

The teachings during this retreat will refer to the following books by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. It's not necessary to have a copy, but some people like to follow along or read more between sessions. Copies of these books are available through the bookstores at our Oak Park and Wicker Park locations, and will also be available to purchase at the retreat. E-book versions are available by clicking the titles below.

Each session will use the following traditional Buddhist meditation prayers to help focus our minds. A limited number of copies will be available to borrow during the retreat.
