Friday, June 4

May 1: Wheel of Life Retreat

June 4 marks the anniversary of Buddha’s first teaching in this world and also the birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the Founder of the NKT-IKBU. To celebrate in Chicago, we will engage in the blessed, traditional prayers, "Offering to the Spiritual Guide."

May 9 (Mothers' Day): The Kindness of Mothers: A Buddhist Perspective

Offering our Faith: Celebration of the 90th Birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Free! Everyone is welcome to participate.

May 15 workshop: How to Rely Upon a Spiritual Guide: The Gateway to Swift Spiritual Realizations

With guest teacher Gen Gomlam. Through practical instruction and guided meditations, feel a tremendous joy and sense of relief, move forward with greater insight and confidence, and let go of the painful past.


June 18 - 23

May 15-18: Guru Yoga: A Profound Retreat of Inspiration & Transformation

The festival consists of teachings, blessing empowerment, and meditations. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of experience. This year's festival features the empowerment of Prajnaparamita, the Buddha of the perfection of wisdom, and teachings on Emptiness. With Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU.


Saturday, June 26

May 22: Clear Sky Mind Day Retreat

A special method to develop concentration & inspiration. In this morning guided retreat, learn how to meditate on Buddha's image to enhance your concentration and inspiration. Everyone is welcome to attend, and no previous experience is necessary.


 

Weekly Drop-In Classes

The schedule continues each month, while the topics change. Each class covers a different aspect of the month's topic, with practical instruction and guided meditation. A mix of in-person, livestream, and recorded options.



 

Live 30-Minute Guided Meditations

Spend 30 minutes cultivating some peace of mind ... and take it with you for the rest of the day! Each includes a brief introduction, guided meditation, and practical ideas on how to mix it with the rest of your day. Livestream only.
