Celebrating Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

Every day we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la, our Root Guru and Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. 

But on the auspicious day of June 4, at Kadampa centers around the world, with minds of joy and gratitude, we offer him our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one-day retreat. 

No previous experience necessary; absolutely everyone is welcome!

SCHEDULE

10:00 - 11:15am: Teaching: Offering our Faith -- The Kadampa Buddhist Way of Life

11:30 - 1:00pm: Retreat Session 1

lunch break

2:30 - 4:00pm: Retreat Session 2

4:30 - 6:00pm: Retreat Session 3

7:00 - 9:00pm: you are also invited to stay for Offering to the Spiritual Guide meditation prayers

TEACHER

Gen Kelsang Zamling, the Resident Teacher (main teacher) at KMC Chicago, has over 20 years of experience teaching and practicing meditation. Adept at guiding both new and experienced practitioners, he’s known for his practical approach, warmth, and clarity. He is also an immaculate example of someone who has taken Buddha’s teachings to heart.

A limited number of copies will be available to borrow during the retreat, but you are encouraged to bring your own copies if you have them.
