We rely on guidance in countless situations. For spiritual attainments like liberation and enlightenment, it's essential to rely upon a qualified spiritual guide. This morning workshop will show how to do this, both in meditation and in everyday life. No previous experience needed; everyone welcome!

All schools of Buddhism agree that the practice of Guru yoga, or relying upon a Spiritual Guide, is the root of the spiritual path and the foundation of all spiritual attainments. We can understand this from our ordinary experiences. For example, if we want to acquire special skills, become proficient at a particular sport, or learn to play a musical instrument well, we naturally seek a qualified teacher to instruct us. If reliance upon a qualified teacher is necessary for mundane achievements such as these, how much more necessary is it for spiritual attainments such as liberation or full enlightenment?
During this morning workshop, Resident Teacher Gen Zamling will explain and guide meditations on the practice of relying upon a spiritual guide, and explain how to carry this experience into everyday life.
No previous experience is necessary, and absolutely everyone is welcome.
