Foundation Program (FP) is an enrollment-based class that emphasizes gaining a deeper understanding and experience of Buddhism through systematic and guided study, meditation, and discussion. We meet weekly on Sunday afternoons, 12:30-2:30 pm (with breaks throughout the year); each Sunday session includes guided meditation, chanted prayers, teachings, and discussion.

We will begin the inspiring book The New Eight Steps to Happiness: The Buddhist Way of Loving Kindness, by acclaimed Buddhist master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

"Everyone, whether religious or non-religious, is looking for happiness all the time and wants to be free from problems and suffering permanently. We can fulfill these wishes through understanding and practicing the instructions given in this book."

-- Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

This inspiring book explains how to meditate on eight beautiful verses that comprise one of Buddhism's best-loved teachings, Eight Verses of Training the Mind, a short poem which has inspired generations of Buddhist practitioners for almost a thousand years, and explains how we can transform all life's difficulties into valuable spiritual insights. This timeless wisdom will help us find meaning and lasting happiness in our busy modern life.

No previous experience is necessary. Although attendance at this sample class is free, we ask you to RSVP below. We welcome everyone!
