Details
Because we are alive, sooner or later we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with it; usually we avoid thinking about death at all!
This special workshop will explore the Buddhist view of death and dying so that we can develop a constructive attitude toward our mortality. Reflecting upon our mortality in a healthy way greatly reduces many of our daily stresses and problems, and helps us to life our life with inspiration and purpose.
We will also explore some of Buddha’s clear and profound teachings on the death process so we know how to help ourself and others during this profoundly important time.
The event includes practical instruction, guided meditation, and time for questions. Open to everyone; no previous experience is necessary.
Following the retreat at 5:15pm, there will be a special opportunity to participate in traditional Buddhist prayers and meditation for the dying and deceased, Powa Ceremony. Everyone welcome.
