Heal Your Mind with Wisdom: Guided Meditation Retreat

Actual mental health is much more than simply coping better with life or being free from anxiety or depression. In fact, Buddha’s wisdom teachings on the true nature of reality--emptiness--provide a vision and method to accomplish a fully-healed mind, a state in which we are free from our own pain and suffering, and can bring tremendous benefit to others.

You can gain personal experience of the transformative, healing power of wisdom during this very special meditation retreat led by special guest teacher and Buddhist nun, Gen Kelsang Demo. Each session will include practical instruction, guided meditation, and discussion of how to integrate the insights from your retreat into daily life.

No previous experience is necessary, and absolutely everyone is welcome!

Note: Gen Demo will also give a special evening talk, "Freedom from Painful Emotions", on Saturday, September 26 at our Wicker Park location.

Teacher

Gen Kelsang Demo is the US Midwestern National Spiritual Director and the Resident Teacher at the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon (Arizona). She has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than 29 years and has been teaching Kadampa Buddhism since 1998. Gen Demo is deeply respected as a teacher and practitioner. She demonstrates a wealth of practical knowledge and provides clear and inspiring teachings for people of all levels of interest.
