Well over 3,000 Kadampas gathered at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center in the beautiful Lake District of the UK for International Summer Festival. We received powerful teachings on the Lamrim of sutra the first week. This past weekend Gen-la Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the NKT granted Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments. A truly magical experience!
After the empowerments, the members of the Chicago community gathered for a group photo and to present our teacher, Gen Zamling, with a new statue of Venerable Geshe-la as a thank you for all he does for us — including encouraging us to attend the festival. We are not sure if we are the largest group from a single US center, but we must be up there! This was the first empowerment for some, while others have been to Summer Festival before. Regardless of level of experience, everyone is basking in the profound teachings and practices, soaking up the blessings, and feeling awed by Venerable Geshe-la’s inconceivable kindness.
