Meditation is a powerful scientific method to dissolve away anxiety and worry, and develop a calm, positive and strong mind. Come learn practical meditation techniques and positive ways of thinking to control your mind, rather than being overwhelmed and controlled by the experience of anxiety and worry.
During each session, Buddhist monk Gen Zamling will provide practical instruction and guide meditations you can practice anytime. You are welcome to ask any questions during the sessions. We will observe silence during our brief breaks to enhance our meditative experience. Join us at the end for an informal Q&A and light refreshments. Suitable for both beginners and seasoned practitioners, each session will include practical instruction and guided meditation.
SCHEDULE
2:00 - 3:00pm: Teaching & Guided Meditation 1
3:20 - 4:00pm: Teaching & Guided Meditation 2
4:20 - 5:00pm: Teaching & Guided Meditation 3
5pm: Informal Q&A with light refreshments (optional)
TEACHER
Gen Kelsang Zamling, the Resident Teacher (main teacher) at KMC Chicago, has over 20 years of experience teaching and practicing meditation. Adept at guiding both new and experienced practitioners, he’s known for his practical approach, warmth, and clarity. He is also an immaculate example of someone who has taken Buddha’s teachings to heart.
